Thorax

The thorax is the middle section of the insect's body and is responsible for locomotion. It contains:

  • Legs: Insects have three pairs of legs, six in total. They can be used for walking, running, jumping, swimming, or digging.

  • Wings: Not all insects have wings, but those that do have two pairs attached to the thorax. Wings can be used for flying, gliding, or balance.
